Project Description:
Having researched arts within the Lake District National Park (LDNP), I discovered a variety of of arts movements including festivals, exhibitions, galleries and more. What really interested me was the traditional roots of art within the LDNP, namely industrial arts such as that which was created at the Keswick School for Industrial Arts. My campus aims to revive the industrial arts, with use of local materials, including: slate, copper, wool, and clay. The building itself also encorporates the same local materials. The overall design of the campus building eminates the concept behind industrial art, bringing together beauty and practicality.
