Project Description:
The Campus of Joinery and Forestry nurtures a culture of considerate resource use, educating individuals on the uses of timber while fostering respect for its sources. The proposal emphasises trees’ crucial ecosystem role and their rising importance in construction. Inspired by Chinese principles of landscaping, the propsoal is designed to seamlessly integrate buildings within the environment, and connect the users to their immediate and surrounding landscape through vistas and dynamic itermediatrory external spaces. By incporating Japanese principles of construction and materiality, the buildings become symapthetic to their landscape, respecting the environment they are sited and further connecting its users to the life cycle of timber.
